Director of the Direct Labour Agency, Engineer Christabel Obiuvwewi , has praised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his commitment to developing Delta State, describing him as a promise keeper who has laid the foundation for unprecedented transformation across the state.
Speaking during a gathering in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Christabel lauded the Governor’s efforts in the last two years, emphasizing his dedication to security, employment generation, and infrastructure development across the 25 local government areas of Delta State.
“Governor Sheriff is a man of his word, he promised Deltans massive development, and he is already delivering. Before now, it was difficult to sleep with both eyes closed in places like Ughelli, Warri, Sapele, and Agbor. Today, insecurity has become a thing of the past.”
Engineer Christabel cited numerous projects already initiated under the Oborevwori administration, noting that the first two years of his tenure have been spent learning the system and laying a solid foundation for growth. She expressed confidence that the next two years would bring about more tangible transformation.
“Governor Sheriff has done a lot in a short time, and people are beginning to see the changes,” she said. “He is not a man who fails or disappoints. As someone who values integrity, I choose to work with leaders who fulfill their promises, and that’s why I stand with him.”
Reflecting on her own personal experiences, Christabel said she shares the same values of reliability and service. “When I make a promise, I fulfill it — even when I was unwell, I kept my word to my people. That’s the same spirit Governor Sheriff brings to governance,” she added.
She urged Deltans to remain patient and supportive of the Governor’s vision, assuring that the administration is only getting started. “What you’ve seen so far is just the beginning. The next two years will bring massive projects, job opportunities, and transformation that will redefine Delta State,” she said.
Christabel projected that by the end of Governor Sheriff’s second term, Delta would experience development on a scale that could be compared to global standards. “By the time he’s done, people will come to Delta and think they’re in America. That’s the kind of progress we’re talking about,” she concluded.
The statement comes as Governor Oborevwori marks his second year in office, with many observers noting increased stability and progress in critical sectors.
